Production challenges

Poor quality, lengthy lead times, and other production-related problems are all possible during the production process. All of these factors have an impact on the product you're putting out there, which has an impact on how the audience perceives your job.

We started our shooting of the music video on 31st December, Saturday. Since it was a project that only required 1 model, that meant we only had a small team. We went to the location, which was in old Lahore, a bit early so that we could start and finish our shooting quickly. However, our first challenge was the model arriving late. Me and the model selected a time which worked with both our schedules. I arrived at the location on time with my equipment, but the model arrived 2 hours late which put us way behind schedule.

The next challenge was the lyrics, my model had difficulty learning the lyrics and couldn't learn them beforehand, so me and him, we both would take 10 mins before a shot, and I would help him learn the lyrics that he was required to lipsync in the shot.

Another production challenge was the use of smoke bombs. Since we wanted to shoot the entirety of the video in one location, we had to use smoke bombs in the same location as well. However, since the owner of the location (haveli) didn't give us permission to use the smoke bombs, we had to use the smoke bombs for the remaining 5 shots that required them in a public park.

The biggest production challenge, personally for me, was my health, though it was gradually deteriorating, it got worse a day before we had to begin the shooting as my kidney infection got worse, and I had to go to the hospital and had to get 3 IV drips. On the day of the shooting, I had a high running fever and my hand made it difficult to hold the video camera as it was hurting from all the drips.
